Etter å ha sjekket inn var det på tide å utforske byen Shimla.
Det første jeg fant var denne trivelige lokale skomakeren. Det vil si, han hadde ikke så lyst til å bli fotografert, men jeg kunne godt få fotografere sjappa hans. Han hadde bygget den selv, sa han stolt. Alt av verdisaker, det vil si skokrem, børster og lisser, tok han med seg hjem ved dagens slutt, så han trengte ikke å betale for innbruddsalarm og vakthold.
En så desidert hull-i-veggen-geskjeft tror jeg aldri jeg har sett før. |

After having checked in it was time to explore Shimla.
The first thing I happened upon was this friendly shoemaker. He didn't want to be photographed, but I was most welcome to take a photo of his shop. He had built it on his own, he said proudly. He brought all valuables, meaning shoe shine, brushes and laces, home with him when the day was over, so he did not have to pay for security during the night.
I've never seen a more hole-in-the-wall operation than this, I think. |
