Although it would be unusual, a good campaign could be developed by players creating former supervillains that could be recruited into Castle Security Inc.
If there's any segment of the populous more psychologically interesting to play than heroes, it would have to be ex-villains. Torn between old habits and trying to make a new life on the right side of the law, these folks have some unique problems. The entire text is (c) Brannon Boren, except Citadel, Ultraviolet and Pile Driver, who are (c) Hero Games.
Ultraviolet: Martha Bradshaw was only in the supervillain game because of a bad decision on the part of her late boyfriend. She finally realized that she only has enough power to get into trouble, not to get out of it. She also figured that she might not get off so lightly next time she was captured (seeing how they threw the book at the rest of the group, especially Orb). Of course the fact that Robin Farnol is sooooo cute has nothing to do with her decision to go straight.
Piledriver: Rich Donalson never really wanted to be a bad guy in the first place. The accident and subsequent surgery at the hands of VIPER that had given him his trademark "piledriver" was completely involuntary. Citadel convinced him that he could make an honest living on the outside, and Piledriver agreed to join Castle Security on his release from Stronghold.
It might seem that a group consisting of ex-cons might not get far in the Security field, but Robin has worked it to his advantage. Their angle is "We can deal with supervillain threats better than anyone, because we've been there. If someone tells you they know how super- criminals think, ask 'em what it's like inside Stronghold. I've seen it like a native. Nobody knows supervillains like we do. Nobody."
The group is fairly unpopular with the supervillain crowd, who consider them to be "traitors". Of course they can't really count on help from the superhero segment either (who's gonna trust a group of former supervillains?). This isolation has forced the three of them to depend on each other to a greater degree than any of them want. The three of them are the closest thing to friends that they've got.
