Home Shard:
Arctic winds blow through a harsh landscape. Temperate at best and deadly cold
at worst, the home shard of Nilsik is an unforgiving place, where the hot tempers of
the inhabitants are at odds with the cold, bleak landscape. Midtskaar is a
world where the chief struggle now is between the evil giants - loosely organized in
the Jotun Nation - and the humans, organized by clans. War has existed for centuries
between these two species, and this situation seems unlikely to change soon. Elves and
dwarves are nigh-extinct, and the only known masters of arcane magic except for the strange
magics that the dragons wield - the giants have
their shamen, and the humans have their clerics. There are no known goblinoids in
Midtskaar. Bards are divine casters in this setting.
Dragons of this shard are large, wormlike, bloated things - wingless creatures
steeped in evil and arcane practices, compulsively hoarding anything of value and
within reach. These linnorms are the foulest of the foul. Woe be to any man
or giant that possesses something a linnorm covets.
The aspect of Heironeous that is worshiped in Midtskaar is called Vaald.
Rules reference: Vaald is an aspect of Heironeous, but with greataxe as favoured weapon.
Though the Shining Blade of Heironeous PrC from Dragon #283 refers to class abilities
as 'shock blade' and so forth, any piercing or slashing weapon can be used with these
class abilities. Though the entries does not say so explicitly, levels of Shining Blade
and Paladin is considered to stack for purposes of Smite Evil, and Call Mount,
and this decision is reflected in the stats below. Living Metal is from Magic of Faerūn.

Demeanor (Alignment: LG):
Gruff, focused and very, very intense, Nilsik nevertheless is a very charismatic
individual. If he got off his high horse about the Jotun every now and then, and perhaps
took a bath. He is likely to go off ranting about the Jotun and their deceptions at
even the slightest provocation. He is likely to act threatening, even borderline hostile,
even towards his friends - though he has a very strict sense of honor. He is very protective
of Rivslite, his advanced dire wolverine mount, and is considering to let him run free again.
