I'm almost up on Cradle Mountain now, and the stone sculptures keep getting stranger. The mountain survived the glacier attack, but it's still continuously torn down by a climate with lots of rain and a constant change between freezing and warm temperatures. Water seeps into cracks in the rock, cracking the stone open when it freezes. |
