Zebraføll er ganske orange i starten, men de går ganske snart over i svart-hvitt. Det virker som en litt teit kamuflasjevariant, men i og med at løver er fargeblinde fungerer stripene antagelig bra som beskyttelse for zebraene både i grå skog og i brungult gress.		Zebra foals are fairly orange when they arrive on this planet, but they soon turn into the standard black and white. It may seem as a failed camouflage to us, but lions are colour blind, and this may well make the zebras close to invisible to them both among dry, grey branches and in tall golden-brown grass.
