Å krysse gata i Saigon er ikke helt som å gjøre det her hjemme. Man må lære seg å stole mindre på trafikklys og skilting generelt, og mer på seg selv. Gå laaangsomt rett ut i kaoset, se hver eneste trafikant som er på vei mot deg rett inn i øynene og forsikre deg om at de ser deg. Beveg deg saaakte fremover, og alle som har sett deg vil svinge utenom deg, og til slutt er du kommet helt over. Mest sannsynlig fremdeles i live. |
Crossing the street in Saigon is not quite like doing it at home. You have to learn to pay no attention to any traffic lights or signs, and instead trust your own and other people's instincts and awareness. Walk slowly straight into the mess, weave your way through the traffic while you try to look straight into the eyes of as many drivers as possible, to make sure they see you. Move slowly, but at an even pace, and everyone who see you will elegantly drive around you instead of over you. After a while you will be across, and most likely still alive. | ||||||
