Mange hus ser fullstendig ubeboelige ut, men så ser du at det er gardiner i vinduene og blomsterkrukker på gesimsene. Folk bor her.		Parts of the old town in Sultanahmet in Istanbul remain standing mainly because of old habit. Earthquakes and time push buildings out of balance, sometimes quickly, more often only slowly. Many buildings look inhospitable, but then you see the curtains in the windows and the flowerpots. "People live here", they say.
