Designation: Low Priest
Used by: Church
Rights: Rights of Hospitality
Prevalence: Very Common
Magic Power: Very low/Low (Cleric 1-5)
The Low Priest makes up a large part of the active members of the church and are what most people think of when they hear the word "priest". After Low Priests finish their training as acolytes, the central church assigns them an area or town to be responsible of, typically with some consideration for the persons interests. The Low Priest will typically spend at least 10 years in one area at a time, many often staying there for the rest of their lives. They are responsible for spreading the scripture, performing any necessary rites, guiding the local people into good deeds and keeping track of any who do not perform the religious devotion expected of the common man. Many also find themselves advisors to local nobles and are considered a core component of the local neighbourhood.
Low Priests possess minor magical abilities and most specialize in common healing spells. Although there are magic resistant diseases and many of course die before the Low Priest can get to them, the general death rates of commoners has drastically decreased every since Low Priests became common. However, some are lazy and over time lose their magical abilities, while other priests, sometimes under the instruction of delequors, refuse to heal any but the most important, claiming the suffering to be part of the Saints plan.
