Gennies are quite important in the Buck Rogers setting.
Whether they be human or non-human gennies, gennies provide that little touch of exotica in the Buck Rogers setting. Need aliens? How about a gennie race. Furthermore, they make excellent MacGuffins, either by possessing special information, or being the special information.
